Vidya Kailasam Hangal has been promoted to the role of Director – Category Planning and Activation (Head – Customer Marketing) at Mondelēz International. She shared the update through a LinkedIn post, marking her progression within the organisation.
Hangal has been associated with Mondelēz International for over 11 years. Prior to this elevation, she served as Director – Omnichannel, where she led the organised trade vertical at Mondelez India Foods. In that role, she was responsible for driving the Modern Trade business across B2C and B2B formats, along with e-commerce channels including quick commerce, e-grocery and online marketplaces.
With more than two decades of experience, Hangal is a seasoned business leader who has worked across building and scaling high-growth brands in the consumer packaged goods sector. Her career spans leadership roles at Britannia Industries Limited, Novartis Consumer Health, and The Coca-Cola Company, among others.
In her new role, Hangal will focus on category planning and activation, with customer marketing as a central mandate, aligning category strategies more closely with evolving retail and consumer engagement priorities.
