From record fundraisers to quirky orders, Zepto celebrates a standout year with loyal users at the heart of its success

Zepto Reflects on a Phenomenal 2024: Big Wins, Bigger Smiles

Zepto has rounded off an exciting and successful 2024 with a look back at the highlights of the year, from record achievements to quirky user orders. The year marked India’s largest domestic fundraise for Zepto, the mainstreaming of Zepto Café, and the introduction of new services like Super Saver.

In a LinkedIn post, Kaivalya Vohra, Co-Founder of Zepto, shared the company’s gratitude and excitement: “2024 was the year of bold moves, quirky milestones, and above all, celebrating you—our users.”

Zepto’s users were at the heart of the company’s success, with some fun statistics highlighting the year’s most unique orders:

  • A Chennai user ordered 481 condoms to stay prepared throughout the year.
  • A Hyderabad customer’s 217 Eno packets proved to be a lifesaver during a particularly spicy year.
  • 5,234 packs of pet food were ordered by a pet lover in Chennai.
  • A Bengaluru curd enthusiast ordered 5,544 pouches of curd to satisfy their cravings.
  • 96 packs of Tata Tea Gold helped a Kolkata customer stay caffeinated.

“Truly, at the heart of Zepto’s success are our loyal users who inspire us every day,” Vohra said.

The year was also defined by late-night snack orders, with over 2 crore snacks being ordered between 12 AM and 4 AM, and Bengaluru topping the chart with 28,000 massagers ordered for some well-deserved self-care.

In terms of searches, 6,000 users searched for "friends" and 877 searched for "sukoon," demonstrating the emotional side of online shopping. And for the health-conscious, 768 carrots were ordered in Pune.

A few of the more bizarre combo orders made Zepto’s team smile, including:

  • Dumbbells + samosas
  • Pooja essentials + tonic water
  • Food from Zepto Café + pressure cookers

Bengaluru led the pack in quirky orders with 8.25 lakh roses and over 4 lakh condoms, while Delhi favoured snacks with 12 lakh Lay’s Magic Masala and more than 8 lakh mixer bottles. Mumbai, ever the night owl, placed a staggering 31.5 lakh snack orders between midnight and 4 AM.

Zepto’s fastest delivery of the year? An impressive 25 seconds. Delivery partners travelled a combined 34 crore kilometres, the equivalent of 8,000 trips around the Earth.

One of the most heartwarming stories came from Scott in Delhi, who was the highest tipper of the year with a generous ?58,000 in tips. Meanwhile, Ravi from Hyderabad became known as the “king of indigestion relief,” ordering 217 Eno bottles over the year.

Reflecting on 2024, Zepto’s journey has been defined by laughter, innovation, and the unwavering support of its users. “Here’s to more innovation, laughter, and convenience in 2025!” said Vohra.

With a year filled with milestones, Zepto looks forward to another exciting chapter in 2025.
