The Ministry of Ayush signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Ayush Export Promotion Council (AYUSHEXCIL) and Zepto Limited to facilitate online access to Ayush medicines and wellness products across India. The agreement focuses on digital discovery, quality compliance and consumer trust.
Addressing the event through a video message, Union Ayush Minister Shri Prataprao Jadhav said, “innovation-driven Indian startups are playing a critical role in improving last-mile access to trusted wellness products.” He added that partnerships with digital platforms such as Zepto show how technology can be used to connect Ayush products with consumers through transparent and convenient channels.
The Minister said the initiative aligns with the vision of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi to integrate traditional knowledge systems with digital infrastructure. He noted that the collaboration would support informed consumer choices and create market opportunities for Ayush manufacturers while maintaining regulatory standards.
The MoU was signed in the presence of Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha, Secretary, Ministry of Ayush. It was executed by Shri Anurag Sharma, Chairman, AYUSHEXCIL, and Shri Kaivalya Vohra, Co-Founder, Zepto.
Shri Anurag Sharma said the partnership provides a structured route for Ayush manufacturers, particularly MSMEs, to reach online consumers. He stated that AYUSHEXCIL would identify manufacturers that meet required quality and regulatory standards for inclusion on the platform.
Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha said, “ensuring product quality, regulatory compliance, and public trust remains a key priority of the Ministry.” He added that the collaboration would support quality assurance mechanisms, including the promotion of the AYUSH Quality Mark, and the dissemination of accurate information on Ayush practices.
Shri Kaivalya Vohra said Zepto would host a dedicated Ayush storefront to help consumers access verified products. He stated that the platform would focus on compliance, sourcing and digital accessibility.
Under the MoU, AYUSHEXCIL will recommend eligible manufacturers and review educational content for regulatory compliance. Zepto will host a dedicated Ayush storefront and support consumer awareness initiatives. The agreement also includes collaboration on educational content validated by AYUSHEXCIL.
The initiative aims to expand digital market access for Ayush manufacturers while providing consumers with access to quality-assured products, in line with the Ministry of Ayush’s broader objectives on digital outreach and industry development.
