Baskin Robbins, India’s largest ice cream brand, has unveiled a new Gelato range as part of its summer offering. The move is part of the brand’s ongoing efforts to position itself as a premium dessert destination in India, expanding beyond traditional ice cream offerings to cater to evolving consumer tastes.
With FY25 coming to a close, Baskin Robbins projects a top-line growth of over 20% and is targeting continued double-digit year-on-year expansion. The new range introduces three categories: Gelato Flavours, Gelato Sundaes, and a special Kids Range. These products, featuring rich textures and bold flavours, are made with premium ingredients to provide an authentic Italian gelato experience.
Notable gelato flavours include Chocolate & Roasted Hazelnut and Blueberry Cheesecake. Complementing the gelato are indulgent Gelato Sundaes, including Chocolate & Roasted Hazelnut, Berry Me in Cheesecake, and Mango & Cream, each enhanced with decadent toppings like Nutella, caramelised hazelnuts, blueberry compote, and mango compote, finished with chocolate-coated waffle garnishes.
For children, the brand has introduced fun options such as the Cotton Candy Wonderland Gelato Sundae, featuring strawberry compote and colourful gems, and the Salted Caramel & Brownie Gelato Sundae with gooey brownie fudge bits.
Mr. Mohit Khattar, CEO of Graviss Group (Baskin Robbins), commented, "We've cultivated a deep understanding of evolving consumer preferences through consistent market analysis and direct customer feedback. This insight drives our innovation strategy, enabled us to launch this delightful selection of artisanal gelato flavours and sundaes that offer consumers an elevated dessert experience beyond traditional ice cream. Our ability to anticipate and respond to changing preferences positions us at the forefront of dessert innovation in the Indian market, and we remain committed to delivering premium, innovative experiences year-round to all age groups."
Baskin Robbins achieved a milestone last year, opening its 1000th store in India and the subcontinent. The company has expanded its presence, with 120 new stores opened in FY24-25 and a growing footprint across over 290 cities in India. While parlours remain the key revenue driver, the brand has also seen significant growth in its packaged consumer goods (CPG) segment and its institutional/B2B channels, including partnerships with hotels, restaurants, hospitals, and multiplexes.
The new Italian Gelato range is now available at all Baskin Robbins parlours nationwide, with prices starting from Rs. 115.
