In a strikingly creative launch, battery energy storage start-up BESSIUM has teamed up with independent creative agency EFGH Brand Innovations to unveil a playful yet impactful video campaign that fuses humour with purpose.
The film features Ravi Shankar Sharma, founder of BESSIUM, swapping the boardroom for a branded EV scooter—not to deliver food, but a vital message for India's industrial and policy leaders.
The campaign echoes the provocative challenge posed by Shri Piyush Goyal at the Start-Up Mahakumbh, who asked: "Are we happy just being delivery boys and girls?"
In direct response, the video shows Ravi riding through the streets in a delivery outfit while cheeky supers flash on screen: "A new start-up? What is he going to deliver?" The narrative cleverly builds suspense before cutting to Ravi, who dismounts the scooter and addresses the audience directly:
“I’m Ravi Shankar Sharma, founder of BESSIUM. No, I’m not here to deliver groceries. I’m here to deliver something far more powerful—an important message. If we want to build a Viksit Bharat, we can’t run on borrowed energy. We need storage solutions that are made in India—for India. At BESSIUM, the mission is clear: building clean, scalable, and reliable Battery Energy Storage Systems to ensure that India's industries never pause.”
The concept is also a knowing nod to Deepinder Goyal, founder of Zomato, who once famously delivered food himself. But this time, the “delivery” is clean, scalable, and sustainable energy—aligned with India’s ambition of a Viksit Bharat.
The campaign teases the next chapter with the introduction of Rahul Khanna, Ravi’s partner, hinting at what lies ahead in BESSIUM’s mission to revolutionise energy storage.
Speaking about the genesis of the campaign, Emmanuel Upputuru, Founder of EFGH Brand Innovations, said, “I was racking my brain over how to launch BESSIUM, and then Piyush Goyal handed us the perfect hint,” said Emmanuel Upputuru. “The idea for the next video came automatically - like shifting gears. I ran it by Ravi, and without missing a beat he said, ‘Let’s do it—right now.’ And you can bet this is only the first lap of a long journey.”
With this campaign, EFGH and BESSIUM aim to encourage Indian innovators, industries, and policymakers to prioritise energy independence and recognise energy storage as the backbone of national growth.
EFGH Brand Innovations, founded by Upputuru and based in Gurgaon, continues to deliver culturally resonant and timely creative solutions that challenge convention and inspire action.
