Black Dog unveils refreshed packaging with ‘Savour the Sip’ brand expression

Black Dog Whisky has introduced refreshed packaging for its blended Scotch whisky portfolio, marking a new chapter in the brand’s more than 140 year legacy.

Founded in 1883 by Sir Walter Millard, the brand traces its origins to a philosophy centred on patience and craftsmanship. Over the decades, Black Dog has built a strong consumer base in India, where it is often associated with milestones and celebratory moments.

The redesigned packaging introduces what the brand calls subtle “savour codes”, featuring refined detailing, premium cues and a cleaner visual language aimed at appealing to a younger, evolving audience while retaining its classic identity.

At the centre of the refresh is the brand’s renewed expression, ‘Savour the Sip’, encouraging consumers to slow down and appreciate the ritual of enjoying Scotch whisky. The blend draws on malts sourced from distilleries across Scotland, including the renowned Linkwood Distillery, and follows a three cask maturation process designed to enhance depth and flavour.

The updated portfolio features two key variants. Black Dog Black Reserve offers a rich, rounded profile with malty depth and subtle oak and sherry sweetness, while Black Dog Triple Gold Reserve is a triple cask matured Scotch with layered notes of oak, toffee and vanilla, finishing with a smooth warmth.

Commenting on the evolution, Varun Koorichh, Vice President – Marketing & Portfolio Head, Diageo India, said, “Black Dog carries a Scotch legacy that goes back generations, crafted with a quiet confidence that never needs to shout. A blend shaped by some of the Scotland’s finest distilleries, including Linkwood, it’s a whisky that rewards the drinker who takes a moment to truly notice it. As today’s consumers evolve seeking more meaning, more craft, and more intentional moments we wanted Black Dog to feel as relevant as it has always been. This refreshed packaging is our way of honouring the heritage while inviting a new generation to make it their own, so every sip becomes a moment worth savouring.”
