Cipla Releases Second Film Highlighting Commitment to Patient Access

Cipla Limited released the second film in its national campaign, ‘1935 Se Desh Ki Sehat Ke Saath,’ marking 90 years of work towards improving access to treatments and healthcare across India.

The first film in the campaign focused on Cipla’s support for healthcare workers. The new film centres on the company’s efforts to reach patients during difficult circumstances, based on a real event during a landslide in a remote northern region of India. Despite difficult conditions and limited connectivity, Cipla’s team delivered essential medicines to those in need.

The film underscores the message, “When the mission is the nation, no terrain is too tough.”

Cipla is among the first Indian pharmaceutical companies to use drone deliveries to transport critical medicines to hospitals and pharmacies in remote areas of Himachal Pradesh. This method supports timely delivery and reduces risks such as delays, temperature issues affecting cold chain products, and road accidents.

Cipla worked with filmmaker Shoojit Sircar and Dentsu Creative India to produce the film.

Commenting on the release, Achin Gupta, Global Chief Operating Officer, Cipla, said, “Staying true to our ethos of ‘Caring for Life’, this film is a cinematic expression of Cipla’s on-ground impact, core values, and unwavering responsiveness. It pays tribute to 90 years of people-first healthcare and reaffirms our ongoing commitment to improving lives through science, empathy, and communication. Cipla has made significant strides in adopting technology to broaden the access to new medicines and empower frontline workers with critical knowledge and diagnostic tools at the grassroots level.”

Shoojit Sircar, Director, said, “We wanted to show a real moment where care transcends the challenges of a crisis. Stories like these inspire us and highlight the importance of accessible healthcare. At the heart of our storytelling were the human spirit and Cipla’s purpose.”

As Cipla marks its 90-year milestone, the films form part of its continuing focus on accessible, patient-centred healthcare.
