Citroën India has announced its role as the Official Car Partner for the 28th edition of the JK Tyre National Racing Championship 2025 (JKNRC), as part of its initiative 'Citroën 2.0 – Shift Into the New.' The partnership sees Citroën working with JK Tyre, a long-standing promoter of motorsport in India.
As part of the collaboration, Citroën vehicles will be used as safety cars and featured in displays and demonstrations during the championship. The brand will also conduct off-track engagements aimed at motorsport audiences, highlighting its vehicle capabilities.
Citroën’s motorsport history dates back to 1931 with the 'Rosalie' C6F and includes participation in events such as the Paris-Dakar Rally and the World Rally Championship (WRC). Over the years, Citroën has competed with various vehicles including the Traction Avant, ZX Rallye Raid, Xsara WRC, C4 WRC, and DS3 WRC. The company has secured nine Drivers’ Championships and eight Manufacturers’ titles in the WRC under the leadership of Guy Fréquelin, with drivers such as Sébastien Loeb.
The brand has used motorsport to test and develop technologies that have been integrated into its road vehicles, including suspension systems, disc brakes, and engine tuning.
Commenting on the partnership, Shailesh Hazela, MD and CEO, Stellantis India, said, "Citroën’s DNA is deeply rooted in motorsport, where our relentless pursuit of innovation, performance, and endurance has earned us a place among rallying’s all-time greats. From dominating the World Rally Championship to conquering the most demanding terrains, our legacy is built on pushing boundaries. Motorsport is where our vehicles are pushed to their limits—and where our engineering proves its mettle. Today, we are proud to salute that heritage in India by partnering with JK Tyre Motorsport — a name equally synonymous with excellence and competitive spirit."
Sanjay Sharma, Head - Corporate Communication & Motorsport, JK Tyre & Industries Ltd, added, "We are delighted to welcome Citroën as the Official Car Partner for the JK Tyre National Racing Championship 2025.
