Converse has launched a limited-edition version of its Run Star Trainer featuring Swarovski crystals, accompanied by a campaign titled Uncut Gems. The initiative highlights the work of five women artists from India who are contributing to the evolving landscape of fashion in the country.
The new Run Star Trainer features a Deep Emerald satin and suede upper, with Swarovski crystals placed on the medial and lateral sides. The shoe includes a translucent gum outsole and a three-layer memory foam sockliner. Only 24 pairs will be available in India.
The Uncut Gems campaign focuses on women creatives working across various segments of the fashion industry. It features:
- Shivani Boruah, of Our Own Pace, whose work centres on fluid design and conscious, slow fashion
- Nyapi Ngomdir, of Sour Saint, who combines contemporary edge with cultural elements
- Meher Toor, of Ada, who works with themes of inclusivity and modern femininity in ethnic wear
- Ankita Chouhan, also known as Akky, of Cybrbride, known for experimental approaches to fashion
- Jane Meliora Mankin Sangma, of 20future, who integrates minimalism and a futuristic sensibility in her designs

According to the brand, the campaign aims to focus on the wearers of the product, spotlighting individuals “who wear them and totally own them, one unapologetic step at a time.”
Converse has confirmed that this model will have an India-wide release starting 14 October 2025.
