Top Story has appointed veteran journalist and author Dr Anil Singh as Editor, bringing more than three decades of experience across television journalism, print, digital media, academia and public-policy analysis to the English daily.
In his new role, Singh will oversee coverage of national politics, Parliament, international affairs, public policy, governance, strategic affairs and major political and economic developments. He will also contribute to the newspaper’s editorial direction, special reports, interviews, political analysis and long-form commentary.
Singh has held senior editorial roles at several prominent news organisations. He served as Executive Editor at STAR News/ABP News from 2004 to 2013, Aaj Tak/TV Today Network from 2013 to 2015 and News24 from 2015 to 2020. Earlier, he worked with Aaj Tak, Zee News and Asia-Pacific Communication Associates.
His career has spanned newsroom leadership, field reporting, Parliament and election coverage, political interviews and analysis of national and international developments. He has been closely associated with Indian politics and parliamentary reporting for more than two decades and has covered numerous Lok Sabha and Assembly elections.
During his television career, Singh was also involved in major political and election programmes, including Kaun Banega Mukhya Mantri on STAR News and Raj Tilak on Aaj Tak. His experience includes live political programming, special assignments and interactions with political leaders across party lines.
Alongside his new role at Top Story, Singh will continue as Editor of STAR Views, a US-based digital news network. The parallel editorial role will add an international perspective to his work, connecting Indian developments with wider global political, strategic and economic affairs.
