Dylect has launched its latest Raksha Bandhan campaign with a digital film that uses sibling banter and social media behaviour to explore the idea of protection associated with the festival.
The film follows a young woman preparing for Raksha Bandhan while documenting the celebrations for her social media. From her outfit and mirror selfie to the rakhi thali and festive food, the occasion becomes a series of moments for selfies and reels.
The narrative takes a humorous turn during the rakhi ceremony when her brother is about to give her a gift. Before opening it, she hands him her phone so he can record her reaction. Her initial response, 'Phir chocolate!!', comes after he hands her a chocolate. He then surprises her with a Dylect Sense 4K Max Two Channel Dash Cam.
The brother explains that while he or the chocolate may not always be around, the dash cam will be with her whenever she drives. The film closes with the line, “Kyunki road pe reels nahi, proof kaam aata hai,” linking the sibling exchange back to the product and the idea of protection.
The campaign takes a less sentimental approach to Raksha Bandhan, placing the sibling relationship within the context of social media, reels and selfies. The film uses these everyday behaviours to reflect how younger consumers are celebrating festivals and expressing relationships.
Anuj Bhatia, Founder, Dylect, said, “Raksha Bandhan has always been about the bond between siblings, but the way that bond is expressed keeps changing. Through this campaign, we wanted to capture that change in a simple and relatable way, making it humourous, light conversational while capturing those real everyday moments that are part of modern sibling relationships. The film is less about the occasion itself and more about the small ways siblings continue to embrace each other.”
The product also provides the film’s interpretation of the traditional Raksha Bandhan theme of ‘Raksha’, or protection. The brother’s gift becomes a way of extending that protective gesture beyond the festival and into his sister’s everyday driving.
The Dylect Sense 4K Max features Sony STARVIS 2, a 140° wide-angle view and ADAS. Through the campaign, Dylect connects these product features with the broader idea of looking out for a sibling, using a familiar festive relationship as the narrative setting.
