Gautam Pandit, the esteemed Executive Creative Director at R K SWAMY Ltd., passed away this morning at the age of 58 due to a sudden cardiac arrest. He is survived by his mother, wife, daughter, brother, and sister.
Sangeetha N, CEO and National Creative Director of R K SWAMY, expressed her shock, stating, “We are shocked beyond words. I was working with him till 8 PM yesterday evening. He was a friend, colleague, guide, and inspiration to so many of us. He has produced brilliant work for clients like Reserve Bank of India, Shriram Finance, Hawkins, LIC, Piaggio, Central Ministries, and many others. Very few could craft films like he did. His mark on our work is indelible.”
Gautam joined R K SWAMY in 2002 as a senior Art Director at the Mumbai office, quickly rising through the ranks to become Creative Director. As the film medium evolved, he found his true calling. A true Mumbaikar, he was fluent in scripting work in Hindi and Marathi. Before his time at R K SWAMY, he worked with the former Hindustan Thompson Associates.
Shekar Swamy, MD & CEO of R K SWAMY, remembered him fondly, saying, “He was an incredible professional. He would listen closely to feedback and bounce back with solutions immediately. Clients loved his work, his engagement and trusted him. He has trained so many people over the years, it is hard to count. He was a remarkable combination of creativity and dependability, so hard to find.”
Gautam’s passing is mourned by family, friends, and colleagues alike, who remember him as an ebullient and loving personality whose legacy will continue to inspire the industry.
