Greenply Industries has launched Kisan Saathi, a farmer-engagement programme aimed at supporting agricultural communities around its manufacturing facilities through training, technical guidance and access to quality planting material.
The initiative is currently active around Greenply’s plants in Tizit (Nagaland), Vadodara and Rajkot (Gujarat), Sandila (Uttar Pradesh) and Kriparampur (West Bengal), and will also be extended to the company’s upcoming facility in Semiliguda, Odisha.
Through Kisan Saathi, farmers receive hands-on support on plantation planning, including guidance on suitable tree species and clones, fertiliser and soil management practices, and Forest Stewardship Council (FSC/FM) certification requirements. The programme is delivered through Greenply’s field teams in collaboration with specialist third-party institutions.
Beyond training, Greenply also provides quality planting material, including high-yielding clones, and advises farmers on intercropping with locally adopted seasonal crops to generate additional income during plantation cycles. Regular farmer meets and participation in large-scale agricultural expos are designed to ensure continued engagement and knowledge sharing throughout the year.
Commenting on the initiative, Sanidhya Mittal, Joint Managing Director, Greenply Industries, said, “Kisan Saathi reflects a true partnership with farmers around our manufacturing units. Crossing 90 million trees and moving closer to our 100 million goal reflects the trust we’ve built with them, and we remain committed to deepening this collaboration in the years ahead.”
With Kisan Saathi, Greenply aims to strengthen the link between industrial growth and rural development by promoting higher productivity, improved farmer incomes and sustainable plantation practices.
