Hansaplast has launched its new Washproof Printed Plasters in India, featuring former South African cricketer Jonty Rhodes. The range combines wound protection with colourful designs intended to make minor cuts and scrapes less daunting for children.
Available in Sports and Wildlife variants, the plasters bring a playful element to everyday wound care while allowing children to choose designs that reflect their interests. The range features 10 prints in total.
Minor cuts, scrapes and bruises are a common part of growing up, particularly for active children. The new range seeks to bring an element of play and self-expression to these everyday moments while retaining the brand’s focus on wound care.
The plasters are designed to block 99% of bacteria and provide antiseptic protection with Benzalkonium Chloride. Their washproof construction and strong adhesion are intended to provide protection during everyday activities, including play and outdoor activities.
Commenting on the launch, Geetika Mehta, Managing Director, NIVEA India, said, “India’s kids’ market is evolving rapidly, with the childcare products industry growing at an estimated 20% CAGR between 2024 and 2029. With around 13 crore urban children under the age of 14, there is a significant opportunity to create products that meet the changing expectations of young parents. Today, parents are looking beyond basic utility and seeking premium products that combine quality, protection and engaging experiences. With Hansaplast Washproof Printed Plasters, we have brought this thinking to an everyday first-aid essential. By combining our 140 years of wound care expertise with trusted protection and fun, collectible designs, we are turning a routine care moment from first aid to feel-good.”

Rhodes’ association with the launch draws on his sporting career, particularly his reputation for diving fielding efforts and the cuts, scrapes and knocks associated with an active sporting lifestyle. The campaign uses this connection to position the plasters around children getting back to play after minor injuries.
In the television commercial, Rhodes interacts with a child who has picked up a minor scrape while playing. The film showcases the printed plasters and uses the interaction to highlight the idea that minor injuries do not have to interrupt children’s everyday adventures.
The Sports and Wildlife designs are printed in India and are intended for everyday use, offering an alternative to conventional bandages. The range is positioned for situations including scraped knees after playing sports, small cuts during playtime and minor injuries during outdoor activities.
Hansaplast Washproof Printed Plasters are now available across leading e-commerce and quick-commerce platforms.
