Havas Media has been appointed to handle Emirates’ global media planning and buying, following a competitive multi-agency review. According to global reports, the account is valued at approximately $190.5 million annually.
The mandate moves from IPG Mediabrands, which managed the business through UM’s London office. The final stage of the review is understood to have involved three contenders: IPG Mediabrands, WPP’s media division, and Havas Media.
This appointment marks a return for Havas, which previously managed the account from 2013 to 2020 before it was awarded to IPG Mediabrands.
The win follows recent developments involving Havas Media. Earlier this year, Horizon Media Holdings and Havas announced the launch of Horizon Global, a joint agency network. The partnership aims to combine Horizon’s independent media capabilities with Havas’ international scale to support multinational clients.
