HDFC Life Insurance Company has approved the reappointment of Vibha Padalkar as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer for a period of five years.
The decision was taken by the company’s Board of Directors at its meeting held on April 21, 2026, based on the recommendation of the Nomination and Remuneration Committee. The reappointment will be effective from September 12, 2026, subject to approval from shareholders at the upcoming Annual General Meeting and the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI).
Padalkar has been associated with HDFC Life since 2008 and has held multiple leadership roles within the organisation. She currently serves as Managing Director and CEO, overseeing the company’s strategy and operations.
During her tenure, the company has focused on consistent performance and disciplined execution. She has also been involved in strengthening the company’s financial framework and played a role in its listing in 2017. Additionally, she led the company through a merger and acquisition transaction in the life insurance sector.
Padalkar is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. She has also been associated with industry bodies, including the Life Insurance Council.
The company stated that she has not been debarred from holding the office of Director by any order of the Securities and Exchange Board of India or any other authority.
