Hero MotoCorp has named Harshavardhan Chitale as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO), starting January 5, 2026. The company’s Board of Directors approved the appointment on September 8, 2025.
Chitale will take over from Vikram Kasbekar, who has been serving as Acting CEO. Kasbekar will step down from this temporary role once Chitale joins but will continue as Executive Director and Chief Technology Officer on the company’s Board.
Chitale brings over 30 years of global leadership experience in areas like industrial automation, lighting, IT services, and digital transformation. Most recently, he was Global CEO of Signify’s Professional Business, leading a €4 billion unit with 12,000 employees in 70 countries.
In the past, he has also been Vice Chairman & Managing Director of Philips Lighting India, where he led the company’s transition into a standalone public entity, and has served as CEO at HCL Infosystems and Honeywell Automation India.
