In an age of constant connectivity, MAGGI has launched ‘The Togetherness Table’, a social experiment that explores how people can become emotionally distant despite sharing the same home.
The initiative brought together parents and children, couples and siblings around a specially designed table inspired by the role of mealtimes in fostering conversations and connection. Participants were asked questions about one another, with the table responding in real time to reflect their level of emotional closeness.
As the questions progressed from everyday details to more personal aspects of their relationships, confident answers often gave way to pauses, guesses and unexpected discoveries. The experiment highlighted how emotional distance does not necessarily stem from a lack of affection, but can develop when people have fewer meaningful moments together amid busy schedules, commutes, work, studies and screen time.
Rupali Rattan, Head, Foods Business, Nestlé India said, "The distance between people isn't always measured in kilometres. Sometimes, it exists across a dining table, in a shared living room, or between two people scrolling through their phones in silence. Through The Togetherness Table, we wanted to make that invisible distance visible and encourage families across India to make a little more time for one another. Because spending time together is what keeps us close."
Through the initiative, MAGGI seeks to reinforce the idea that togetherness extends beyond simply sharing a physical space. Small, everyday moments, such as sharing a meal, having an uninterrupted conversation or laughing together, can play a role in strengthening relationships.
The experiment builds on MAGGI's association with everyday meals and shared moments, bringing its ‘So Good Together’ proposition into a more personal setting. By turning invisible emotional distance into a tangible experience, The Togetherness Table encourages people to pause, reconnect and make time for the relationships closest to them.
