Renowned Indian financial services brand, Motilal Oswal Group, is stepping up its efforts to protect investors from scams with the launch of the #YehConHai campaign. The initiative aims to educate the public on recognising fraud tactics and safeguard their financial well-being.
Motilal Oswal has long been targeted by scammers seeking to exploit its trusted reputation. Through rigorous action, including collaboration with two specialised agencies, the Group has already taken down over 15,000 fake posts, videos, and apps. Despite these efforts, the threat persists.
The #YehConHai campaign focuses on exposing common fraud tactics, with three films dramatizing real-life scenarios in which fraudsters impersonate Motilal Oswal employees, including Group Chairman Raamdeo Agrawal. These stories highlight the psychological manipulation tactics used by scammers and underscore the need for vigilance.
Empowering Investors to Invest Securely
Motilal Oswal Group is committed to ensuring a secure investment environment. "While we have been doing substantial work in taking down fake/fraud posts, we thought potential victims must also be opted in our efforts. Visuals work helps investors comprehend the modus-operandi of scammers and prepares them to deal with such attempts much better. A sting operation was the creative device that we came up with internally for this purpose," said Sandeep Walunj, Group Chief Marketing Officer at MOFSL.
The campaign comes in response to growing concerns about financial fraud. According to the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), bank frauds in 2024 amounted to over ?139.3 billion. This statistic highlights the importance of investor vigilance and cautious decision-making.

The campaign also educates investors about the tell-tale signs of fraud, which include:
- Pressure to act quickly or make rushed decisions.

- Assurances of fast or extraordinary profits.
- Requests to transfer funds to a non-official account.
