Navi Mutual Fund has launched a new investor awareness campaign focused on index fund investing, using humour and familiar social situations to make financial conversations more relatable to younger audiences.
The campaign comprises two digital films, ‘The Akhada’ and ‘The Date’, which introduce index fund concepts through everyday interactions.
‘The Akhada’ features a traditional wrestler performing malkhamb who responds to his guru’s questions about his aspirations using index fund terminology, creating a humorous take on growing investment awareness.
'The Date’ follows a young couple meeting for the first time, with the conversation unexpectedly turning into a discussion around index funds.
Aditya Mulki, CEO of Navi AMC, said, “Index funds have emerged as one of the simplest and most transparent ways for investors to participate in the growth of the markets, yet investing is often perceived as complicated. Through this campaign, we wanted to make investing conversations feel natural and approachable by placing them in everyday situations people instantly recognise. Our objective is to spark curiosity, encourage learning and help more Indians take their first step towards long-term wealth creation.”
Vishal Dayama, Founder, Braindad, said, "The brief lent itself to a more unconventional approach. Rather than explaining what index funds are, we built stories around characters who are hilariously passionate about them. Watching that passion spill into unexpected situations made the films entertaining, while subtly reinforcing that conversations around investing are becoming more mainstream."
Through these scenarios, Navi Mutual Fund aims to simplify conversations around passive investing and encourage first-time investors to explore index funds.
The campaign will run across digital and social media platforms through short-form videos and supporting content aimed at making investing more approachable.
