Nike has launched the After Dark Tour in Mumbai, marking the debut of the city’s first-ever night race. This event, a 10K run, is part of a global women’s race series designed to inspire, empower, and expand the running community.
The race aims to create a historic moment, offering runners the opportunity to experience Mumbai's streets under the stars while racing alongside women who are redefining the boundaries of sports. Nike continues its mission to bring more women into sport and celebrate their resilience.
At a special event in Mumbai, Nike invited notable figures, including athlete Parul Chaudhary, javelin thrower Annu Rani, Vineeta Singh, Founder of Sugar Cosmetics, and Swetha Subbiah, Founder of Sisters In Sweat. Together, they celebrated women’s strength and determination in sports.
The After Dark Tour will bring a sense of community and self-expression to participants. Nike is introducing India’s most popular messaging tool, WhatsApp, to connect women with athletes through the After Dark Tour Run Assistant, powered by chatbot technology. This service will provide inspiration, expert tips, and training support to prepare runners for the event.
Additionally, Nike Running Head Coaches Mishti Khatri and Akshata Pai will lead weekly 10K training sessions, providing support and guidance to participants. Those completing the race will receive a race bib, an exclusive Nike After Dark Tour Swift Tee, and a Nike Swoosh bra as part of their experience.
Tarundeep Singh, General Manager of Nike India, stated, “At Nike, we believe in the power of sport to create change. After Dark Tour Mumbai is a movement to empower women to reclaim the night, push boundaries, and run together like never before. It’s about celebrating resilience, determination, and the shared joy of running under the night sky.”
The After Dark Tour is set to be a significant moment in India’s women’s running scene. It marks not just an event, but the beginning of a movement that will inspire future generations of women to take up running, support one another, and celebrate their collective strength.
