BigBasket and Talented are back with a festive campaign that brings a refreshing twist to the traditional portrayal of Christmas. Following their cheeky Children’s Day billboards, the two brands have teamed up once more for a touching Christmas short film, ‘Judy the Star.’ Produced by Pu Productions, the film follows an elderly couple who, through a series of amusing events involving a broken phone and a BigBasket delivery executive, accidentally spread Christmas cheer.
The film, which highlights the convenience and joy of celebrating the season with BigBasket’s quick delivery service, showcases everything from home decorations to festive treats. “We wanted to highlight how easy it is to celebrate Christmas with BigBasket,” said Raagaleena Sripada, Marketing Head of BigBasket Retail. “Whether it’s decorating your home, enjoying cakes and cookies, or finding perfect gifts, we bring it all to your doorstep in just 10 minutes. We also wanted to capture the true essence of Christmas, which is all about giving.”
Leena Gupta and Aakash Desai from Talented explained the campaign’s deeper intent, “Indian Christmases are often overlooked in media, with portrayals stuck on Santa and reindeer. We wanted to offer a more authentic view of the festival, focusing on the spirit of generosity and giving through the lens of an elderly couple— a group often underrepresented in advertising.”
Directed by Deepak Thomas, the film offers a delightful, whimsical take on how a mistake—a wrong delivery order—turns into an unexpected festive miracle. “It was fun creating a world where a broken phone leads to twelve stars arriving at your door,” said Deepak Thomas. “We filmed in the charming bylanes of Bandra, bringing the neighbourhood to life as Judy and the delivery executive spread joy.”
