OpenAI has elevated Uday Ruddarraju to the role of Chief Technology Officer, Compute.
Ruddarraju was previously Head of Compute and Infrastructure, overseeing the company's compute and infrastructure capabilities.
He joined OpenAI in July 2025 after stepping down as Head of Infrastructure Engineering at xAI.
Before his stint at xAI, Ruddarraju spent nearly seven years at Robinhood and was associated with eBay between 2013 and 2018, building experience across infrastructure engineering and technology leadership.
