Publicis Groupe has been appointed to handle PayPal’s global media account, according to Media Reports. The move follows a competitive multi-agency pitch process.
The account was previously managed by WPP’s GroupM, which had taken on media duties for PayPal in late 2023. GroupM stepped back from the account earlier this year. Reports indicate the agency’s decision was part of a wider shift in focus towards other strategic areas.
With this appointment, Publicis Groupe adds PayPal to its list of global media clients, which also includes Mars, Coca-Cola and Paramount.
The change comes as PayPal continues to develop its advertising offering through its internal unit, PayPal Ads.
