PVR INOX Limited has announced the launch of the Kareena Kapoor Film Festival, celebrating the illustrious 25-year career of Bollywood actress Kareena Kapoor Khan. The announcement took place on September 18, at LIDO Cinema, with Kapoor Khan in attendance alongside key figures from PVR INOX, including Mr. Kamal Gianchandani, Chief Business Planning & Strategy; Ms. Niharika Bijli, Lead Strategist; and Mr. Aamer Bijli, Marketing and Innovation Director.
The Kareena Kapoor Film Festival is scheduled to run from September 20 to 26, 2024, featuring a curated selection of the actress's most iconic films. The line-up includes classics such as Asoka, Chameli, Jab We Met, Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, and Omkara. These films will be screened across 30 cinemas in 15 cities, providing audiences with the opportunity to relive significant cinematic moments on the big screen.
Kareena Kapoor Khan expressed her gratitude for the festival, stating, “It is truly an honour to have my cinematic journey celebrated in this way. Revisiting these films brings back so many memories, and I am grateful to PVR INOX for creating this festival for my fans.”
The festival coincides with the release of Kapoor Khan’s latest film, The Buckingham Murders, a thriller that has received positive reviews.
Ms. Niharika Bijli, who played a key role in conceptualising the festival, commented, “This festival is a celebration of Kareena Kapoor Khan’s remarkable contributions to Indian cinema. Her career has been inspiring, and we are thrilled to offer audiences the chance to revisit her iconic films.”
