Rajsekhar Datta Roy has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of Sonata Software, effective 9 May 2026, for a term of three years. He will lead the company’s international business.
Roy, who previously served as Chief Delivery Officer, has been part of the company’s executive leadership team and has played a key role in scaling its technology and delivery operations. Over the years, he has led large delivery portfolios spanning product engineering, enterprise systems and digital transformation programmes.
He has also been closely involved in expanding Sonata’s Microsoft and Dynamics practices into some of its core offerings. Over the past year, Roy has driven initiatives around the company’s shift towards an AI-first approach, including work on its Responsible-first AI framework and the development of its Harmoni.AI platform.
With over three decades of experience, Roy has worked on building and scaling global delivery organisations catering to large enterprise clients.
The appointment comes alongside a leadership transition at the company. Samir Dhir will step down as Managing Director and CEO at the close of business on 8 May 2026, following the completion of his term. He has also resigned from his role as Executive Director.
Dhir will continue to be associated with the company as an advisor to the Board until 31 December 2026 to ensure a smooth transition.
