September is peak season for phone launches, with brands rolling out flagships, refreshes, price drops and exchange offers. But while most advertising takes shoppers inside the store, Sangeetha.com and tgthr. have chosen to focus on what happens after the purchase: the handover.
With its retail presence already established across the South, Sangeetha is looking to make Sangeetha.com its next growth frontier. Its festive campaign takes the brand’s 30-minute delivery promise and moves it from the showroom to the doorstep.
Conceptualised, written and produced by independent agency tgthr., the four-film campaign finds Sangeetha delivery executives arriving at doors so quickly that they repeatedly walk into unfinished moments.
In one film, a delivery executive spots smoke pouring from under a door and begins fanning it away with his delivery box, only to discover a man holding a burnt pan. In another, he finds a woman covered in red paint and assumes something is wrong, before she reveals she is simply in the middle of painting a wall.
A third film opens to a full-sized gorilla at the door, with a little girl in a party hat asking, “Mr Sharma?” And in a hospital, an expectant father waiting for news gets an unexpected visitor when the delivery executive bursts through the door instead of a doctor.
The recurring idea is simple: “Sabse pehle main hi aata hoon.” The delivery arrives before the moment has had time to finish — before the paint dries, the smoke clears, the party begins or the news of a baby arrives.
Running for 20 to 25 seconds, the films are designed for social feeds rather than cut down from longer-format advertising. The four variations also allow the media plan to rotate executions, while each film carries the offer, product, cashback and call to action.
“We're asking people to buy a phone from us without walking into one of our stores. All we have in that moment is a promise and thirty seconds to make it land. Our instinct was to say the number louder. tgthr. convinced us to stop saying it and start showing what it feels like when it happens. We didn't lose a single message point — the offer, the cashback, the call to action are all in there. We stopped being one more ad shouting a claim and became something people finish watching and then repeat to someone else. For our .com business, that word of mouth is worth just as much as the media behind it.”

For tgthr., the creative opportunity came from looking beyond the usual retail setting.
“In September, every phone ad is shot inside a store. We went and stood at the customer's door instead, because that's the moment the whole promise actually gets kept — and nobody had touched it. The hard part isn't being funny. It's taking a brief as tight as '30 minutes, keep it short, make it sell' and finding one idea that carries all of it without repeating a word of it. That takes people who can distil a brief, whether it's two lines or twenty pages, and storytellers who can build a world around it and see it through to the final frame. tgthr. has both under one roof. That combination is what turns a delivery timeline into four films people watch to the end — and into four films a media plan can actually work with. Nobody in these films says thirty minutes. And you walk away knowing it. That's the whole craft.”
