Omnicom Media Group India’s Chief Content Officer, Shailja Varghese, has stepped down from her role, marking a notable leadership movement as the network undergoes a structural transition following Omnicom’s acquisition of IPG.
According to sources, her departure is understood to be unrelated to the consolidation, though it comes at a time of organisational reshaping across the group. Her next move remains undisclosed.

Professionally known as Shailja Saraswati Varghese, she brings nearly two decades of experience across television, digital, content strategy and media. Her previous leadership roles span ZEE5, Wavemaker SEA, National Geographic Channels, Discovery Communications, UTV Network, and multiple content agencies across the APAC region—building her reputation for cross-platform storytelling and performance-led brand content.
Varghese joined Omnicom Media Group India in 2021 as Head of Content before being elevated to Chief Content Officer. During her tenure, she oversaw the integration of OMG’s content capabilities into a unified practice, OMG Content, serving brands across OMD, PHD and other agencies within the network.
Beyond her corporate role, she has contributed to industry discourse as a juror at the Cannes Entertainment Festival, a speaker at regional forums, and a member of advisory panels such as the Content Marketing Summit APAC. She is also a podcast host and mindfulness trainer, reflecting her wider engagement with personal development and creative communities.
