Starbucks India has opened its 50th store in Bengaluru, celebrating the milestone with the launch of its first Drive-Thru at Electronic City, one of the country’s fastest-growing residential and tech hubs. This marks a significant step in the company’s strategic expansion across southern India.
The new store combines the familiar Starbucks Third Place experience with the convenience of a Drive-Thru. It features community-inspired interiors, bilingual signage in English and Kannada, and a warm material palette that reflects Bengaluru’s dynamic tech culture and rich coffee history. The store’s design also includes curated artwork and a vibrant accent ceiling, creating a welcoming environment for customers. Both indoor and outdoor seating areas promote social interactions, with a menu showcasing premium Arabica coffee sourced from Indian estates, along with local favourites like masala chai and filter coffee.
Since opening its first store in Koramangala in 2013, Starbucks has become a key player in Bengaluru’s coffee scene, a city renowned for its love of rich, origin-based brews. Starbucks’ presence is already seen in popular locations like Vittal Mallya Road, Prestige Trade Tower, Phoenix Marketcity, and at the city’s busy airport locations. With this expansion, Starbucks India is continuing to introduce locally inspired formats and offerings to better serve the region's growing demand. Later in 2025, Starbucks will also open a Reserve store in Bengaluru.
"Bengaluru has played a pivotal role in our India journey and continues to be a key market as we expand our presence across the country. The opening of our 50th store in the city, and our first drive-thru in the region exemplifies our commitment to enhancing accessibility and convenience for our customers. As we scale, our focus remains on introducing formats and experiences that are locally relevant, while offering a beverage portfolio that reflects the evolving preferences of Indian consumers. We remain deeply committed to this region and to strengthening our presence in a way that is sustainable, locally meaningful, and built for the long term,” said Sushant Dash, CEO, TATA Starbucks.
Starbucks India employs over 600 partners (baristas) across Bengaluru, including in three all-women stores and one signing store operated by specially abled partners. The new Electronic City store will be staffed by a team of 12 partners, furthering the company’s commitment to its people and its presence in the region.
