Indian smartphone brand LAVA has partnered with SW Network for the UK launch campaign of its AGNI 4N, bringing together a roster of prominent UK creators as the brand looks to strengthen its presence in the international market.
Conceptualised by SW Network, the campaign is led by a film set in a fictional ‘SAM Survivors Support Group’, where a group of young people share exaggerated experiences of dealing with a frustrating smartphone. Featuring Deji Olatunji, Harry Pinero, Max Khadar, Joe Weller and Cariad Ryan, the film builds on familiar smartphone frustrations before introducing the LAVA AGNI 4N as an alternative.
The campaign was developed to introduce AGNI 4N to UK consumers through a creator-led narrative rather than a conventional product-focused smartphone campaign.
Speaking about the brief, Raghav Bagai, Co-founder, SW Network, said, “The brief was to introduce AGNI 4N to a new audience in the UK and communicate its strengths in a way that didn’t feel like a conventional smartphone campaign. We wanted to find a simple human insight that could give us a strong creative platform and make the product naturally part of the story. That led us to the idea of looking at the everyday frustrations people have learned to live with and turning them into something entertaining.”
For LAVA, the campaign comes as the brand expands its footprint in the UK, with the AGNI 4N launch bringing the Indian smartphone maker together with a mix of established creator voices from the market.
Puravansh Maitreya, Head Marketing, LAVA International Limited, said, “As Lava enters the UK market, we wanted to introduce the brand with transparency and relatability. The campaign reflects the true essence of our brand persona, consumer-first, confident and setting out to change the experience quotient in the mid-tier segment. The AGNI 4N is designed to give consumers an experience free of compromise, and this campaign brings that thought alive in a way that is easy to comprehend, with a little fun.”
Shubham Chawla, Business Head, Youthbeat, added, “Over the last two years, we’ve seen a significant shift in the global creator ecosystem, with YouTube emerging as a major platform of choice for creators worldwide. For this campaign, we wanted to go a step further and bring together some of the UK’s biggest and most distinctive creative voices. Their understanding of humour, character and storytelling helped us translate the idea into a world that feels recognisably British while remaining universal. The scale of the talent also reflects the ambition behind taking an Indian brand to a global audience.”
Production for the campaign was handled by Banana in a Suit (BIAS Studios). Shot in London with a UK cast, the film uses the support-group setting to build a recognisable world around everyday smartphone frustrations, while retaining the campaign’s humour-led approach.
Jaunty, Producer and Director at Banana in a Suit (BIAS Studios), said, “The idea gave us a lot of room to play with character and performance. Shooting in London with a UK cast helped us ground the support group in a world that felt authentic and instantly recognisable. At the same time, working on the ground in London allowed us to bring together local talent and a global production. We wanted the support group to feel believable enough for the audience to buy into the world, while still allowing the situations to become increasingly absurd. The challenge was finding that balance between realism and comedy, so every character felt like someone you could actually know. Once that world was established, AGNI 4N could enter naturally as the way out of all these frustrations.”
The campaign will be amplified across the UK through influencer-led videos, OOH and social media, extending the film's narrative and product messaging across consumer touchpoints.
