MiQ, a leading global programmatic media partner, has announced the appointment of Varun Mohan as Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) in India. The promotion follows five years of significant growth under Mohan’s leadership as Head of Growth & Revenue, and is part of MiQ’s broader strategy to cement its position in the expanding Indian digital advertising ecosystem.
Mohan will now oversee all commercial operations across India. With nearly two decades of experience in digital media, including previous roles at Microsoft Advertising (Aidem Ventures), Republic TV, and Appier, he has been instrumental in MiQ India’s success since joining in 2020. Under his leadership, MiQ has become synonymous with data-driven innovation, delivering high-performance campaigns across a range of industries.
His efforts were recognised in 2024 when he was named one of India’s Top 35 Growth Visionaries by Indian StartupTimes. This accolade celebrated his ability to blend commercial acumen with deep digital insight.
In his new role, Mohan will focus on three key pillars: driving revenue growth, forming strategic industry partnerships, and building a forward-thinking programmatic team. These objectives reflect MiQ’s ambition to scale its local footprint and continue setting the standard in India’s digital advertising sector.
"MiQ has seen exceptional growth in India in recent years, which is one of the most dynamic and fastest-evolving programmatic markets globally,” said Lee Puri, co-founder of MiQ. “Varun has been an instrumental part of driving and leading this growth, and his elevation to CCO is both a recognition of past success and a strategic investment in MiQ’s future. Varun's unmatched leadership abilities, combined with his understanding of MiQ’s proprietary technology and deep market insights in the Indian digital marketing ecosystem have transformed how our partner brands and agencies harness the power of programmatic. As we continue to push the boundaries of what's possible, we expect Varun to lead the India team to greater success, further cementing our relationships with partners and strengthening MiQ’s position as the clear leader in the Indian market."
This leadership transition comes at a pivotal moment for India’s digital advertising scene, particularly with the rapid rise in Connected TV (CTV) usage. As YouTube becomes a vital performance channel, MiQ’s CTV-ready innovations are well-positioned to support advertisers in navigating the country’s complex OTT and retail media landscape.
"India's digital advertising landscape is at a critical inflection point, with programmatic adoption accelerating," said Varun Mohan, Chief Commercial Officer, MiQ India. "Brands are no longer asking why programmatic, but instead want to know how fast we can scale it. What makes MiQ truly differentiated is our ability to blend smart technology with local intelligence. I'm excited to lead our extraordinary team as we pioneer new innovations tailored for India's diverse audiences and help our clients capitalize on emerging opportunities."
As part of its growth plan, MiQ India will invest in enhancing its technology stack, forming key industry alliances, and acquiring top talent to sustain its leadership and deliver exceptional client outcomes.
