WPP strengthens its Global Delivery Centre in India, appointing Prashant Mehta to lead the initiative as part of its continued investment in the region

WPP Expands Global Delivery Centre with Major Investment in India

WPP has announced a significant scaling of its Global Delivery Centre (GDC) in India, with plans to establish it as a global hub for innovation and expertise. The move follows the company’s latest investment in India, which includes the opening of a new campus in Chennai, marking WPP’s third campus in the country after Mumbai and Gurugram.

India, being one of WPP’s fastest-growing markets, is set to host the GDC, taking advantage of the strong foundation of talent, technological expertise, and creativity already in place. The centre will operate at the heart of WPP’s business transformation strategy, providing access to cutting-edge capabilities in areas like generative AI, cloud modernization, hyper-personalisation, XR experiences, and composable commerce.

Prashant Mehta has been appointed Managing Director of the GDC and will spearhead its expansion. With over 10,000 people currently employed globally by the GDC, this growth will enhance WPP’s ability to deliver high-quality services across areas such as media, content, customer experience, and technology.

Prashant joins from Accenture, where he led global assets at Accenture Song, driving generative AI adoption. He has also held leadership roles at Dentsu and Publicis Sapient.
