ZET has received approval from the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) for its Third-Party Application Provider (TPAP) licence, enabling the launch of ZET UPI.
The approval allows existing and new ZET Credit Card users to make UPI payments using their RuPay credit cards. Users with an active ZET Plus subscription will receive a flat 2% cashback on all ZET UPI transactions, along with other benefits included in the subscription.
By using RuPay’s UPI-on-credit-card functionality, ZET combines UPI payments with credit card usage on a single platform. The company said the integration is intended to help users build and maintain their credit profiles through routine transactions.
ZET focuses on expanding access to credit for adults without prior credit histories by offering secured credit cards aimed at helping users build credit scores. The addition of UPI enables users to use credit-linked payments for everyday expenses.
Speaking on the launch of ZET UPI, Yash Desai, Co-founder, ZET said, “UPI has become the default way Indians transact every day, and NPCI has played a central role in making the experience reliable and accessible. Our focus is to meet users where they already are and help them build healthy credit habits without changing how they pay. ZET UPI is designed to fit naturally into daily life while supporting a disciplined and transparent credit journey.”
ZET’s UPI offering is powered by Juspay’s technology and is enabled through a partnership with RBL Bank.
The company said its user base continues to grow month on month. It added that the launch of ZET UPI is expected to support adoption of its credit card products by allowing users to earn cashback while making UPI payments.
ZET said it will continue to develop products aimed at aligning daily payment behaviour with long-term credit management for first-time and underserved users.
