Acer enters India’s travel accessories market with luggage range

Acer has forayed into India’s travel accessories segment with the launch of a new smart luggage portfolio, marking its expansion into the lifestyle category.

The range includes multiple series such as Melbourne, Melbourne Plus, Barcelona, Copenhagen, Brisbane and Predator, available in carry-on, medium and large formats to cater to both short and long-haul travel needs.

Designed with a focus on convenience and durability, the collection features expandable storage, organised interiors, smooth mobility systems and TSA-approved locking mechanisms. Select models offer specialised functionalities, including front-opening compartments with dedicated laptop storage, dual-access designs for ease during transit, and reinforced structures for enhanced protection.

At the premium end, the Predator series is engineered for frequent travellers, while other variants prioritise flexibility, accessibility and lightweight construction. Across the portfolio, ergonomic handling and 360-degree spinner wheels aim to ensure seamless movement across travel environments.

Sustainability is also a key focus, with certain models incorporating recycled polyester materials, aligning with Acer’s broader commitment to responsible manufacturing.

Commenting on Acer’s entry into the category, Harish Kohli, President and Managing Director, Acer India Group, said, “At Acer, innovation has always been about anticipating how consumer needs evolve and expanding into categories where thoughtful design and technology can make everyday experiences better. Travel today has become more dynamic, connected, and experience-led, and consumers increasingly seek products that combine utility, durability, and intelligent design. Our entry into the travel accessories segment reflects a natural extension of Acer’s brand philosophy, bringing purposeful innovation beyond traditional technology categories into lifestyle-led ecosystems. With this portfolio, we are introducing travel solutions built around functionality, sustainability, and modern mobility, while staying true to Acer’s focus on quality and user-centric innovation. As we continue to diversify our portfolio, our objective remains to create products that are relevant, reliable, and designed for how people live and move today.”

Talking about the launch, Alok Dubey, CFO, Acer India, said, “As travel continues to evolve, so do the expectations of today’s travellers. There is a growing demand for luggage that delivers convenience, durability, smart organization, and seamless mobility, while also maintaining a modern design language. India is one of the most dynamic travel markets, driven by a new generation of frequent travellers and professionals on the move. With this launch, we aim to introduce thoughtfully designed travel solutions that enhance the overall travel experience, combining intelligent storage, durable materials, and smooth functionality. Our focus remains on delivering products that integrate innovation, sustainability, and everyday usability.”

With this launch, Acer extends its technology-led innovation into travel solutions, targeting modern consumers seeking functionality, design and efficiency in everyday mobility.
