Akshay Kumar joins Acer as brand ambassador as company expands into home technology

Acer has appointed actor Akshay Kumar as its brand ambassador as the technology company expands beyond personal computing into a broader portfolio of products for the modern home.

The partnership comes as Acer marks 50 years globally and 27 years in India. It also coincides with the company’s push behind House of Acer, an umbrella bringing together Acer’s technology products and Acerpure’s home appliances, including laptops, televisions, air conditioners and washing machines.

The House of Acer proposition is built around making technology a more integrated part of everyday life, with the brand positioning its products around smarter, easier and healthier living.

For Kumar, the association reflects the role technology plays across his work, travel, fitness and family life. The partnership positions him alongside Acer as the company seeks to connect its technology portfolio with changing consumer lifestyles.

“My life is always moving. There is work, travel, fitness and family, and when I come home, I want things to be simple. Technology should make life easier, not add more to your list. What I like about Acer is that it has evolved with the way people live. The House of Acer brings together technology that can become a natural part of your everyday life, from the way you work and entertain yourself to the way you live at home. That is what makes this association exciting for me,” said Akshay Kumar.

The partnership also marks a shift in how Acer is presenting its portfolio, moving from individual technology products towards a wider connected-home proposition. The company is looking to position computing, entertainment and home appliances as part of a single ecosystem designed around everyday consumer needs.

Harish Kohli, President & Managing Director, Acer India Group, said, “For 50 years globally and 27 years in India, Acer has continued to evolve with the changing needs of consumers. Today, technology is no longer confined to the desk but is an integral part of how we work, relax, entertain ourselves and live. The House of Acer brings this evolution together, creating a home where technology is designed to make everyday life smarter, easier and healthier. Akshay Kumar embodies qualities such as performance, discipline, reliability and constant evolution, making him a natural partner for this next chapter of Acer.”

The association comes at a milestone year for Acer, with the company using its five-decade global presence and 27-year India journey to underline its evolution alongside changing consumer behaviour. Kumar’s association similarly brings together a public profile that has remained relevant across multiple generations with Acer’s attempt to broaden its role in consumers’ homes.

The partnership will see Kumar represent Acer as the brand builds out its House of Acer proposition and expands its presence across technology and home solutions.
