Amit Kumar will take over as interim leader of Google Cloud India following Sashikumar Sreedharan’s departure from Google. Karan Bajwa, President, Asia Pacific, Google Cloud, announced the leadership change in a LinkedIn post.
Sreedharan is moving on from Google to pursue an external opportunity. During his tenure with Google Cloud, he held multiple leadership roles, first serving as APAC COO before taking on the role of Managing Director for India.
Announcing the transition, Bajwa thanked Sreedharan for his contribution to Google Cloud and his partnership during his tenure.
“Our momentum in India has never been stronger, fueled by accelerating business and AI growth across the market. As we continue to build our next phase of growth, I want to personally thank Sashikumar Sreedharan, who is moving on from Google to an external opportunity. Sashi has worn multiple hats in his time with Google Cloud, first as APAC COO, and subsequently as Managing Director for India. Thank you for your partnership and impact, Sashi. I wish you the very best,” Bajwa wrote on his LinkedIn post.
With Kumar stepping in as interim leader, Bajwa said Google Cloud will remain focused on building on its momentum in India. He added that the opportunity for the company’s customers and partners in the market remains significant.
“As Amit Kumar steps in as interim leader for Google Cloud India, our focus remains clear: building on our incredible momentum. The opportunity ahead for our customers and partners in India has never been bigger, and I'm energised for what our team will deliver next,” Bajwa wrote.
