Ashish Sehgal is expected to become the CEO of Times TV Network, likely starting in December 2026. In addition to this role, he’ll also assume the responsibilities of Chief Growth Officer for the media & entertainment businesses under Vineet Jain’s Times TV Network portfolio.
His appointment comes at a critical moment for the network, which has faced a phase of limited investment and uncertainty over the past 12–18 months.
Since August 2025, Rohit Gopakumar has been acting CEO after Varun Kohli left the position following a 13-month tenure as COO. With Sehgal’s arrival, the network hopes to bring back strategic leadership; Gopakumar is expected to return to his earlier role.
Industry insiders view Sehgal’s hire as a bold move, signaling renewed ambition. His reputation for strategic thinking, scaling businesses, and strong leadership makes this a significant talent acquisition for the group.
At his new post, Sehgal will report to Vineet Jain and N. Subramanian, helping strengthen the leadership team and guide the network’s transformation. His presence is anticipated to bring stability, drive growth planning, and restore confidence, potentially attracting high-caliber talent back to the group.
Before this, until November 2025, he served as Chief Growth Officer – Broadcast & Digital at ZEE, overseeing revenue generation across all TV channels, the ZEE5 platform, and special IPs.
Sehgal brings over three decades of experience in media and entertainment. At ZEE, he pioneered several first-of-its-kind initiatives and was instrumental in shifting the revenue model to a unified, platform-agnostic structure.
He also played a key role in expanding the ILT20 Cricket League as its Business Head. Earlier, during his tenure as COO of Zee Unimedia (2015–2020), he helped drive significant revenue growth for both ZEEL and ZMCL, a period regarded as one of their strongest growth phases. Repeated efforts to contact Sehgal went unanswered at the time of publishing.
Sehgal’s impending move to Times Network has generated considerable enthusiasm inside the company and across the wider industry.
