Bacardi has appointed Mahesh Kanchan as Managing Director for India and Southeast Asia, effective 1 October. He succeeds Vinay Golikeri, who has been promoted to Regional President for Asia, Middle East and Africa (AMEA) and Global Travel Retail (GTR).
“It’s been a privilege to lead the India business and I’m proud of the momentum we’ve built and the strength of the team,” says Vinay Golikeri. “India remains a critical market for Bacardi, and I look forward to continuing to work closely with Mahesh to build on this progress as part of my wider AMEA role.”
Kanchan, currently Managing Director for Southeast Asia, brings more than three decades of experience across the alcoholic beverages and fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) sectors. In his new role, he will oversee the day-to-day leadership of Bacardi's India and Southeast Asia business and drive the company's next phase of growth in the region.
“I’m excited to take on this role at a time of significant opportunity for Bacardi in India,” says Mahesh Kanchan. “We have a strong team, clear momentum and a business well positioned for its next phase of growth.”
Golikeri takes on the expanded regional role after more than 20 years with Bacardi, including over three years leading the India and Southeast Asia business.
Bacardi said India remains a strategic growth market for the company, supported by continued investment, strong business momentum and a long-standing presence in the country. It also highlighted India's role as a key source of global leadership talent within the organisation.
