Somasree Bose Awasthi has embarked on a new professional journey by joining Hamilton Hamilton Housewares (Milton) as Business Head – Unit. Awasthi, who stepped down as Chief Marketing Officer of Marico in June 2025 after nearly three years in the role, brings with her extensive leadership experience in the consumer goods space.
Prior to Marico, she spent over 15 years at Godrej Consumer Products Ltd., rising through sales and marketing to become CMO — during which she led major brands including air-care, insecticides, soaps and home-care. Her notable achievements at GCPL include launching and scaling the air-freshener brand Godrej Aer and significantly growing the insecticide brand HIT.
At Marico, Awasthi was responsible for brand strategy, marketing initiatives and innovation across the company’s diverse beauty and wellness portfolio.
Her transition to Hamilton Hamilton Housewares (Milton) signals a shift from beauty & wellness to the housewares segment — a move that speaks to her versatility and ambition to apply her deep FMCG and brand-building experience to a new domain. This appointment is keenly watched, given her track record of transforming categories and building growth engines in fast-moving consumer markets.
