Casio India has unveiled ‘Vintage Verse’, an immersive brand showcase in Mumbai that seeks to reposition its vintage collection as a cross-generational design statement rather than a purely nostalgic product line.
The experience is built around the brand’s ‘Future Classics’ philosophy, which frames the collection as enduring by design, evolving alongside shifting cultural and style sensibilities. Instead of focusing on product features, the showcase leans on experiential storytelling to underline how legacy design continues to find relevance with newer audiences.
Structured as a multi-room installation, ‘Vintage Verse’ guides visitors through three themed spaces. ‘Retro Futuristic’ draws from 1980s science fiction aesthetics with metallic elements and abstract forms. ‘Retro Modern’ reimagines a vintage living room through a contemporary lens, combining nostalgic motifs with updated design cues. ‘Retro Classic’ takes a more restrained approach, presenting a study-like setting built around timeless visual codes.
Together, the installations attempt to map the evolution of Casio’s Vintage range from a functional accessory to a cultural marker shaped by changing expressions of identity and style.
The event opened with media interactions and guided walkthroughs of the installations, followed by a brand address outlining Casio’s journey in India and the continued evolution of its Vintage portfolio. It concluded with a vinyl-led music session.
Commenting on the showcase, Takuto Kimura, Managing Director, Casio India, said, “Casio Vintage has evolved far beyond timekeeping to become a cultural marker. Its relevance comes from staying true to what it stands for, while allowing each generation to reinterpret it. Future Classics is not just about the watches, it is about the people who wear them, the creatives and individualists who keep the design alive and relevant. With Vintage Verse, we celebrate exactly that.”
