Delhivery has launched ‘Corners of Courage’, an Independence Day campaign that brings together 80 lesser-known stories of courage and sacrifice from across India, using the company’s nationwide delivery network as a route to discover and share them.
The campaign draws from stories that have lived on in small towns, villages and local communities but have received limited attention in the mainstream narrative of India’s freedom struggle. The idea originated from a routine delivery route, where a Delhivery executive came across a forgotten story about local freedom fighters. This discovery became the starting point for a wider effort to uncover similar stories from different parts of the country.
The campaign features stories from across India, including the Tamralipta Jatiya Sarkar, a parallel government formed in Tamluk, West Bengal; the Vedaranyam Salt March in Tamil Nadu; and the tribal resistance at Mangarh in Rajasthan. Together, the 80 stories highlight the different forms and geographies through which India’s freedom movement unfolded.
Mohammed Ali, Senior Vice President & Head of Marketing, Delhivery, said, “The stories for India’s struggle for freedom live far beyond the more popular names and places we know. As a company that moves through the length and breadth of the country every day, we have the privilege of discovering these remarkable stories from its many corners. Through ‘Corners of Courage’, we wanted to use our routes not just to move parcels, but to bring these stories of courage and sacrifice to a new generation."
As part of the campaign, Delhivery will include collectible physical postcards featuring the stories with parcels delivered during Independence Day week across India. Each postcard will feature an unsung story from a different part of the country along with a QR code directing recipients to a digital collection containing all 80 stories.
The digital experience allows audiences to explore the stories geographically and learn more about the people and movements behind them. It also invites people to share other lesser-known stories of courage and sacrifice from their own neighbourhoods.
Through the combination of physical postcards and the digital collection, the campaign turns Delhivery’s delivery routes into a way of bringing lesser-known chapters of India’s freedom struggle to a wider audience.
The campaign is live across Delhivery’s social media platforms and digital channels.
