As preparations begin for Flipkart’s annual Big Billion Days (BBD) sale, the company has launched an outdoor campaign involving large-scale land formations near two major airports.
In what it describes as a first-of-its-kind out-of-home (OOH) advertising effort in India, Flipkart has created crop-circle-like patterns across farmlands near Bengaluru and Kanpur airports. The formations are intended to be visible to air travellers flying in and out of the cities.
The campaign is part of Flipkart’s broader messaging strategy for the BBD sale, centred around the tagline 'Kuch Bhi Ho Sakta Hai.'
Pratik Shetty, Vice President, Growth and Marketing, Flipkart, said: “Big Billion Days has always been about creating those magical, almost unbelievable moments for India. Crop circles have always carried a sense of mystery and turning them into giant media canvases felt like the perfect way to say that this BBD: anything is possible. It’s not just about announcing a sale, it’s about giving people a taste of the magic before it even starts. These visuals were designed to make people pause, notice, and feel something for a moment. Because Big Billion Days doesn’t just show up on a date, it builds through moments like these that remind us that Kuch Bhi Ho Sakta Hai.”
The installations are visible from aircraft at cruising altitude and aim to act as an early reminder of the upcoming sale event.
Flipkart's Big Billion Days typically sees participation from a wide range of sellers and brands across categories.
