Javier Campopiano has returned to Publicis Groupe, taking on a newly created leadership role at Leo. He has been appointed Chief Creative Officer for Leo Constellation across the Americas and Iberia, covering Spain and Portugal.
In his new position, Campopiano will report to Leo Global Co-CEOs Agathe Bousquet and Marco Venturelli. His mandate includes overseeing creative output across the region, supporting local leadership teams on regional and international client assignments, and helping attract and nurture creative talent across the network.
The move comes shortly after Campopiano departed from Omnicom Advertising Group, where he served as Global Chief Creative Officer following Omnicom’s acquisition of Interpublic Group.
The appointment also marks a return to Publicis Groupe for Campopiano. Earlier in his career, he held the role of Chief Creative Officer at Saatchi & Saatchi, where he helped shape several notable campaigns, including Tide’s widely acclaimed ‘It’s a Tide Ad’ Super Bowl campaign.
Over the years, Campopiano has held senior creative leadership positions across major agency networks. Following his stint at Saatchi & Saatchi, he joined WPP’s Grey as Europe CCO and later Global CCO. In 2023, he moved to IPG’s McCann, where he served as Global Chief Creative Officer for both the agency and the broader network.
Commenting on the appointment, Arthur Sadoun, Chairman and CEO of Publicis Groupe said, “Campopiano’s return is the latest demonstration of our commitment to investing in what remains a key differentiator for our clients: the very best talent, to drive creativity in all of its forms.” Bousquet and Venturelli said his that his ability to combine craft, humanity and impact makes him the perfect person for the new role.
