KFC has marked the launch of its new outlet on Beach Road with a life-size KFC sand bucket at Ramakrishna Beach, using a public space activation to draw attention.
The installation, shaped like the brand’s signature bucket, was created using over seven tonnes of sand by local artist Akunuru Balaji Varaprasad over a span of 48 hours. Positioned along the shoreline, it quickly drew crowds and became a popular photo spot among visitors.
The activation coincides with the opening of KFC’s new restaurant located opposite the beach. The outlet spans 2,280 square feet and includes design elements inspired by its coastal surroundings, such as boat-themed interiors, a bamboo façade and sea-facing seating.
The campaign uses a high-footfall public location to build visibility, turning a familiar leisure spot into a temporary brand installation.
With the beachside activation and the new outlet in place, KFC is looking to tap into Vizag’s local footfall and tourist traffic to expand its presence in the city.
