MakeMyTrip, an online travel company based in India, has launched a new digital campaign titled ‘Villian Mat Bano’, focusing on common challenges faced by Indian travellers when going abroad.
The campaign addresses issues such as the need for early hotel check-in, last-minute changes to international flight dates, financial consequences of visa rejections, and difficulties in finding hotels preferred by Indian travellers. MakeMyTrip promotes its platform as offering solutions to these problems.
The company has featured Bollywood actors Gulshan Grover, Dalip Tahil and Mukesh Rishi, known for their villainous roles in Indian cinema, to illustrate these travel issues and the corresponding services offered by MakeMyTrip. The campaign consists of five short films released digitally.
Raj Rishi Singh, Chief Marketing Officer & Chief Business Officer - Corporate, Flights, GCC, MakeMyTrip, said, “International travel can sometimes feel overwhelming, with unexpected situations cropping up at the worst possible times. Through this campaign, we wanted to show travellers that MakeMyTrip has thought about these challenges and built solutions to make their journeys smoother. The villains dramatize the situations in a way that makes them instantly relatable, while we highlight how MakeMyTrip can help resolve them.”
The campaign was conceptualised and executed by Restless at MagicCircle.
