MakeMyTrip has partnered with the Ministry of Tourism to promote guided travel experiences across India, bringing more than 350 tours across 60+ cities to its platform from Independence Day, August 15.
Aligned with the 'Incredible India' and 'Dekho Apna Desh' initiatives, the partnership aims to make local guides and their stories more accessible to travellers by digitising the discovery and booking of cultural, heritage, spiritual and experiential tours.
The catalogue spans walking, cycling, vehicle-based and multi-day experiences, with prices starting at ₹500. Travellers can choose from tea-tasting sessions in Palampur and heritage experiences in Agra to street photography tours in Kolkata, block-printing workshops in Jaipur and immersive experiences in Varanasi and Goa.
The initiative forms part of MakeMyTrip’s wider tours and attractions business, which brings experiences ranging from heritage walks and safaris to cultural sites and outdoor activities onto its platform.
Speaking about the partnership, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Minister of Tourism and Culture, said the initiative would give guides, local experts and communities a direct way to reach travellers and share India’s stories.
Rajesh Magow, Executive Director and Group CEO, MakeMyTrip, said the partnership aims to make these experiences as easy to discover and book as flights and hotels, while placing local experts at the centre of the travel journey.
To support the launch, MakeMyTrip and the Ministry of Tourism have also rolled out a joint campaign, accompanied by a master film celebrating the diversity of experiences across India.
