Tyler Turnbull, global CEO of McCann, is set to be appointed global CEO of WPP Creative, according to media reports. He is expected to succeed Jon Cook, who is due to step down by March.
The scope of Turnbull’s new role beyond WPP Creative remains unclear. He had also been considered for the global CEO role at Ogilvy, before Laurent Ezekiel was appointed to the position in late 2025.
Turnbull took charge as global CEO of McCann in December 2025, following Omnicom’s completion of its acquisition of IPG. He currently leads McCann as one of the three creative networks within Omnicom Advertising, alongside BBDO and TBWA.
Prior to joining McCann, Turnbull spent more than a decade at IPG-owned FCB. He joined the agency in 2014 to lead the turnaround of its Canadian operations before taking charge of its New York office. In 2019, he became CEO of FCB North America and was elevated to global CEO in 2022.
Following Omnicom’s acquisition of IPG, FCB was merged into BBDO as part of the group’s restructuring.
