Mobile brand realme has announced the launch of ‘#RealWaliDiwali’ campaign with three ad-films. Spotlighting a different and humourous angle to gifting, specifically for the GenZ, the campaign has put a fresh spin on the festive offers worth Rs 500 crore.
All three ad-films move around the same idea, of using a GenZ slang ‘ghanta’, a popular expression often used to imply getting nothing. However, realme is flipping the narrative with a simple promise – ‘realme pe ghanta nahi, real deals milenge.’
The strategic move of realme to use colloquial word by youth at the centre of its Diwali storytelling, is supposed to bring more resonance and sound familiar among the audiences.
The ad-films combine humour with consumer proposition, giving the creative idea a clear payoff beyond the punchline.
Each film has a common angle, built around a situation where seemingly exciting moments taken an unexpected turn. In one of the ad-film, an intern receives a giant bell as his Diwali gift from the HR, in another a young couple is presented with the same unusual gift by their guest, which eventually turns into a realme smartphone.
As the initial excitement gives way to confusion, the films land on the question, ‘Is Diwali bhi ghanta mila?’, which eventually flips into ‘Yeh chhodo, yeh lo.’
Following a fun and frolic way, the brand moved from the ordinary advertising pattern with family montages, gifting moments into a fun and frolic way.
