Snapdeal has introduced a multi-solution AI Suite aimed at making fashion discovery more personalised, visual and conversational for shoppers across Bharat. The suite brings together AI-powered recommendations, conversational search, image-based discovery and customer experience tools across the marketplace.
At the centre of the rollout is StyleMatch, Snapdeal’s AI-powered recommendation engine, which currently influences 76 per cent of customer orders on the platform. The system uses browsing behaviour, purchase history, location, style preferences and real-time interactions to personalise product recommendations.
The company has also deployed Large Language Model (LLM)-powered conversational search, allowing shoppers to describe what they are looking for in natural language rather than relying on specific product keywords. Queries can include an occasion, budget or usage need, such as finding a kurti for Raksha Bandhan under Rs 700 or shirts suitable for office wear during summer.
Snapdeal currently processes more than 5 million AI-assisted conversational searches every month through the feature.
The company has also expanded its visual discovery capabilities through Snap&Shop, an AI-powered image search tool that allows shoppers to upload a photograph or screenshot of an outfit and find similar products available on the marketplace. The feature processes more than 1 million image searches every month, making image-led shopping one of Snapdeal’s fastest-growing discovery journeys.
The AI-led approach is particularly relevant to Snapdeal’s non-metro customer base, which accounts for more than 80 per cent of its orders. The company said its AI tools are designed to enable shoppers to discover products through images, natural language and personalised recommendations, irrespective of geography or familiarity with fashion terminology.
“Fashion discovery should feel effortless and fun,” said Achint Setia, CEO, Snapdeal. “Customers don’t think in keywords. They think in occasions, inspirations, colours, celebrities, trends and images. Our focus has been to build AI that understands that intent and helps customers discover fashion in the most natural way possible. Whether someone starts with a photograph, a conversation or simply wants to browse, AI enables us to make shopping more personal, intuitive and accessible for millions of shoppers across Bharat.”
Beyond product discovery, Snapdeal is deploying AI across customer support, seller enablement, logistics and internal operations. The company said the broader integration is aimed at embedding AI across the commerce journey, from helping consumers find products to simplifying operations for sellers and making fashion discovery more accessible.
