Starbucks marks 100 stores in Mumbai with exclusive beverages, a collaboration with Riteish & Genelia Deshmukh, and a stylish Anamika Khanna collection

Starbucks Celebrates 100th Store in Mumbai with Local Flavours

Starbucks, in partnership with TATA, celebrates a significant milestone with the opening of its 100th store in Mumbai. This landmark moment highlights the city where the brand’s journey in India began over 12 years ago. To commemorate this achievement and its deep connection with the city, Starbucks is offering a range of exclusive beverages and collaborations that celebrate Mumbai’s iconic culture and flavours.

"Mumbai has been at the heart of our journey in India, inspiring us with its energy, diversity, and relentless spirit. This city has allowed us to grow and innovate and as we look to the future, we are excited to continue bringing unique coffee experiences to this great city while honouring the stories that Mumbai has helped us create," said Sushant Dash, CEO, TATA Starbucks.

Starbucks marks its centenary by launching two limited-edition beverages designed to pay homage to Mumbai’s vibrant street culture:

  • Bombón Cloud: A creamy, indulgent drink combining condensed milk, ristretto shots, and coconut-flavoured foam, served in a chic cortado glass—capturing Mumbai’s dramatic flair.
  • Kala Khatta Cold Brew: Inspired by the tangy street golas of Chowpatty, this refreshing cold brew blends Starbucks' signature arabica coffee with the nostalgic zing of kala khatta.

To further celebrate, Bollywood couple Riteish and Genelia Deshmukh, founders of Imagine Foods, have partnered with Starbucks to offer innovative twists on Mumbai’s street food classics. Their creations include:

  • Reverse Vada Pav: A spicy vada in a buttery brioche bun, complemented by garlic chutney and thecha aioli for a modern take on the beloved street snack.
  • Pav Bhaji Pull-Apart: Soft pull-apart buns filled with comforting pav bhaji flavours, perfect for sharing or enjoying solo.
  • Kheema Danish: Flaky pastry enveloping spicy kheema, creating a rich, savoury delight that captures the essence of Mumbai’s food scene.

"Mumbai’s vibrant energy and rich culinary heritage make it a city unlike any other. Through our collaboration with Starbucks, we’ve had the opportunity to infuse innovation into iconic street flavours. The bold Reverse Vada Pav, the comforting Pav Bhaji Pull-Apart, and the indulgent Kheema Danish are not just creations; they’re a tribute to the spirit of Mumbai and its love for food. We’re delighted to bring these unique offerings to life, celebrating the city’s essence in every bite and sip," said Genelia & Riteish Deshmukh, Founders, Imagine Foods.

Additionally, Starbucks has partnered with renowned Indian designer Anamika Khanna to create an exclusive merchandise collection inspired by Mumbai. The Anamika Khanna + Starbucks collection, celebrating the city’s diverse and dynamic character, will be available by the end of January at select stores in locations such as Bandra, Colaba, Worli, and Juhu.

As Starbucks continues to expand its presence across India, this 100th store in Mumbai represents not only a milestone in the brand’s growth but also a tribute to the city's ongoing influence on its journey.
